Residential Care is a long term package of care that is delivered in permanent accommodation and 24-hour care and support to the elderly over the age of 55 years old. Our referrals are predominantly Local Authority led and our aim is to offer support to the elderly (and their carers/family members) who may find it difficult to manage daily life at home.
Meadowrythe Residential Home is a 41-bed Residential facility located in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Nexxus sister home, Bracken House Residential Home is a 34-bed Residential facility located in Burntwood, Staffordshire. Nexxus endeavours to provide our Residents with a safe place where they are looked after according to their needs, by supporting with washing, dressing, toileting, administering medication and supporting mobility needs. Our Residents are afforded a home away from home and can treat the setting as their own home. Our purpose as a residential care home is to ensure that people who cannot live independently, but do not require nursing care are well looked after and can continue to lead meaningful livesis
Nexxus welcomes referrals from our Local Authority, Staffordshire County Council, for long-term, short-term, respite, emergency, hospital discharge and palliative care placements. Our residential homes have their own hair salon, open dining areas adjacent to individual lounge areas, individual and group activity sessions, and other resources such as RITA (Reminiscence Interactive Therapy Activities) which enhance our Residents lives. Both Meadowrythe and Bracken House also benefit from garden areas allowing our Residents the opportunity to get some fresh air and enjoy the sun when the weather allows, and giving our green fingered Residents the opportunity to continue their hobby. Our Residential Care Homes Provide:
Assistance and support with personal care, including bathing and showering, washing, skin and nail care and oral hygiene.Assistance and support with dressing and undressing. Nexxus aim to ensure our Residents receive exemplary standards of care and support.
Meals and snacks throughout the day, home cooked by our trained catering teams. Our homes support and offer eating assistance if required.
Assistance with toileting and incontinence care.
Assistance with getting in and out of bed. All Staff are trained in Moving and Handling and use of various moving and handling equipment.
Medication administration from a qualified Senior team.
Activities to encourage physical and mental exercise, ensuring inclusivity for all of our Residents and accommodating individual needs.
Social activities, entertainment, day trips and outings.
