Amy Crawley
My name is Amy, and I am a Recruitment Officer at Nexxus Care. I completed my Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care during sixth form, which sparked my passion for the care sector. I went on to study Children’s Nursing at university for two years, gaining valuable experience through placements within the NHS and community settings across Staffordshire. Following this, I discovered an interest in recruitment within the care sector, which ultimately led me to Nexxus Care. I find my role incredibly rewarding, as I have the opportunity to connect with a wide range of individuals and help ensure we recruit compassionate, high-quality staff to support our service users.
I thoroughly enjoy working as part of such a supportive team and take great pride in contributing to a growing organisation. I am currently working towards my Level 3 Recruitment Apprenticeship to further develop my skills and knowledge within the field.
Ashleigh-Marie John
My name is Ashleigh, and I am one of the recruiters at Nexxus Care. I joined Nexxus in August 2024, bringing with me 11 years of experience in the care sector.
Throughout my career, I have worked across a variety of settings, including live-in care, domiciliary care, neurological care, and residential care homes. I have always found my work in care to be extremely rewarding, and it has given me a strong understanding of the dedication and compassion needed to support others.
I am passionate about finding aspiring individuals who share these values and supporting them in joining the Nexxus Care team, where they can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Clair Hall
I joined Nexxus care in July 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer. I am legally responsible for the business along with 5 other board directors.
My role is to ensure the business is run safely and effectively adhering to all regulations at all times. I set the strategic direction for the company and attend regular board meetings to share business updates monthly with all board members. I have worked in the care industry in a variety of roles for 13 years and can quite honestly say I would not do anything different.
I am immensely proud of what Nexxus have achieved since trading started in Jan 2018 and thoroughly excited for the future of Nexxus Care, delivering care to those that need it across Staffordshire, safe in the knowledge that policies and processes are embedded throughout
the organisation to deliver high-quality care, supporting Staffordshire County Council and the framework of all Staffordshire care providers. A personal motto of mine: “It's not what you do, it's why you do it.” Nexxus Care is all about the ‘why’, myself and the teams around me all understand the why, and that’s so vitally important.
Danielle Harley
In September 2021, I joined Nexxus as a Recruitment Administrator, bringing with me three years of experience in the care sector, including both home care and domiciliary care. In this role, I am responsible for ensuring that all compliance checks are conducted to the highest standards and supporting the recruitment of skilled, reliable, and trustworthy carers.
Since joining, my role has evolved to include responsibility for managing the company’s social media platforms, as well as contributing to marketing and branding initiatives. I take great pride in working for Nexxus Care alongside such a dedicated team and look forward to contributing to the organisation’s continued growth and success.
David Stupples
I have worked in the care sector for 12 years, I started as a volunteer community support workers for a Learning Disabilities charity in my spare time, I enjoyed the role so much I left my job working on Apple contracts for TNT and took a position as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities, I progressed to Team Leader before moving into Residential Care with Accord housing as Duty Senior and was tupeed across to Nexxus Care in July 2021.
It’s been a whirlwind 18 months where I have progressed to Deputy Manager thanks to Nexxus for putting their faith and trust in me and investing in me as a person, here at Meadowyrthe Nexxus have provided us with a lovely environment not only for us to work in but for our residents to live in, investment in the building, staff training, equipment and resources have all brought together a fantastic caring and safe environment for all the people we care for and everyone who works in and visits the service
Dean Munslow
I am the registered manager at Woodlands View. I have worked in care since 2008 and I started as a support worker, supporting amazing people like you! In my other positions I have worked alongside great teams just like we have here and having great people around me has given me lots of experience. I am new to my role at Woodlands view and I am very happy to be working with the team I have to make sure our service users are safe and comfy during their stay at Woodlands View.
Denise Wherton
I have worked in the care sector for over 30 years. After completing college, I worked for 10 years in a residential care home, and moved into the home care sector, where I have been fortunate enough to progress. I started as a care worker, moving to a senior care worker, co-ordinator, registered manager and for the past 8 years as a regional trainer. I have worked with Nexxus for nearly two years and find them to be passionate about the work that they do.
Emma Holdcroft
In my role as Operational Lead for Residential Services, I am committed to ensuring that every individual in our care receives the highest quality, person-centred support. I believe that strong leadership, clear communication, and a dedicated workforce are essential in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate services.
I take pride in supporting our Registered Managers and teams to maintain excellent standards across all residential settings, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements while continuously striving for improvement. With extensive experience in the care sector, I understand the importance of building positive relationships from the outset—with residents, families, colleagues, and partner organisations.
A key part of my role is to drive quality assurance, support staff development, and promote a culture that is open, honest, and focused on achieving the best outcomes for those we support. I am passionate about creating environments where individuals can live fulfilling, independent lives and where staff feel valued, empowered, and motivated.
I find my role incredibly rewarding, knowing that the work we do each day makes a meaningful difference in enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life of our residents.
Erica Matthews
I have worked in the care sector for 14 years and joined Nexxus Care in February 2019.
I have worked my way up to Registered Branch Manager, my care days started as a support worker for people with Learning Disabilities before moving into Domiciliary Care as a care worker, I then progressed into the role of a coordinator which I did for a number of years before moving into the role of a Care Delivery Manager. I am proud to be part of the Nexxus Care team making a difference to people's lives.
Helen Atkins
I have worked in the care industry for 15 years, beginning my journey as a care worker. My early experience was in a residential care home for the elderly before moving into community care, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I later progressed into an administrative role within the care company I worked for, expanding my skills and responsibilities.
In December 2018, I transferred to Nexxus Care, where my career has continued to grow, moving into recruitment and further developing my professional experience. I began my accounts work in 2022, adding another layer to my role and contributing to the wider operations of the organisation.
At Nexxus Care, we are passionate as a team about providing the highest level of care and support to all customers.
Karen Cook
I have worked in care since 2004, I started working for the NHS on a mental health assessment Unit for the over 65's. I left to gain experience in the community and became an MH support worker for SCC, I moved on to work for Allied Healthcare in 2011, I worked as a coordinator, and progressed to branch manager in 2017. In Dec 2018 I transferred to Nexxus Care. My job role entails managing a team of branch staff and carers, it is to ensure rotas are complete to enable carers to attend customers to provide personal care and medication, complaints are dealt with in the correct time frame.
I have a team of around 90 carers and a team of 12 branch staff. The branch currently provides care to around 150 customers within the community. I thoroughly enjoy working for Nexxus as we have a very supportive senior management team, the main goal is to provide a high level of care and support.
Kayleigh George
Nexxus Care provides the Step Up Reablement Service across Staffordshire and South Staffordshire, offering short-term support for up to six weeks to help individuals regain their independence following illness, injury, or a decline in their health.
We also receive referrals for individuals new to care and POLR (Provider of Last Resort).
The service is designed to prevent hospital admissions when a person experiences a decline in their health or at a crisis point. We offer timely, practical support, we aim to stabilise situations and build confidence and independence within their home.
The service is supported by an Occupational Therapy Team, dedicated Occupational therapist and Occupational therapy assistant which include a dedicated staff ensuring personalised plans are developed to maximise independence with daily living tasks.
Our approach focuses on enabling individuals to do things for themselves, together with the Support worker if they are struggling, rather than having tasks done for them. This includes suggesting the use of aids and adaptations, as well as utilising the "Box of Tricks" – practical tools and techniques designed to promote safe, confident daily living. This will enable them to gain confidence and independence.
Laura Lapthorne
I joined Nexxus Care in December 2018 as Operations Director. I have 24 years of experience in the Health and Social Care Sector. I have varied roles in the industry from a care worker, co-ordinator, Registered Branch Manager, Care Delivery Director, and now Operations Manager. I love working in the care sector and thrive off the difference and impact our care team has on our service users' lives. Our service can be the difference between somebody remaining independent in their own home or going into full-time care. Our goal is to help the residents of Staffordshire to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible.
My Mum sadly suffers from advanced Alzheimers so I know and understand how important care workers are to support my family.
Lisa Leeson
I have worked in residential care for over 35 years. During this time I have covered both days and nights, and have worked my way up to the position of Manager (Registered Manager). I am responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of all residents, staff, and visitors to the home. I believe that we must offer the best possible care to our residents whilst also supporting their families and loved ones. We achieve this through a highly motivated, well-trained, and caring team. I am extremely proud to be part of Nexxus Care.
Lucy Watts
As the registered Manager at Daisy Haye, I bring a wealth of experience and dedication, having worked at Daisy for 12 years. I began my journey as a care support worker and gradually progressed into my current leadership role, I truly enjoy building meaningful relationships with both service users and staff, which I believe is essential to providing compassionate and effective care. I still enjoy activity involved in care work, as it keeps me connected to the needs of those we support. I also take great pleasure in organising activities for all service users, on a Tuesday, which is a highlight of week. Working closely with my deputy manager and team leaders allow me to ensure that our service maintains the highest standards of care and support, fostering a positive and caring environment for everyone involved.
Skye Duffy
I have worked in the healthcare industry for over 10 years, starting as a bank worker in domiciliary care, and working my way up by hard work and dedication, to my position now with Nexxus, as residential registered manager.
I have gained my qualification in management and my level 5 in health and social care which I am extremely proud of.
I am a strong believer in teamwork and would never ask my staff to do something I wouldn’t be prepared to do myself. I love working in health care and will always make sure the resident’s health and wellbeing are a priority by ensuring all staff work in a person-centred way and treat everyone as if they were family. Seeing a resident with a smile on their face makes realise I made the right career choice.
Stacey Shorthouse
In my role as a recruitment manager, I believe that every member of the team plays a pivotal role in delivering the best care we can. I am proud that we pride ourselves on high levels of compliance checks and the recruitment we follow. The recruitment stage plays an important part in the onboarding of all new employees to the business. From working in the care sector for over 10 years I am a strong believer that is important to build good working relationships from the start. This can only be achieved by knowing that the recruitment team is friendly, open, honest, and caring to every individual that applied to the service.
I find my role very rewarding knowing that we are recruiting caring individuals to ensure our service users remain as independent as possible.
