As a trainer, I see my role as supporting others to develop safe, confident, and person-centred practice. I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where mentees feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I place strong importance on safety, dignity. I take a practical, hands-on approach to training, especially in areas like moving and handling, where I demonstrate techniques clearly and then allow time for supervised practice. I also adapt my style to suit different learners, recognising that some people learn best by doing, others by discussing, and some by reflecting in different ways. I encourage questions, reflection, and learning from experience so that knowledge is not just understood but applied safely in practice. Overall, I aim to lead by example, promote continuous improvement, and ensure that all staff feel confident, competent, and compliant in their roles.
As a trainer, I am deeply passionate about helping others develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to provide high-quality care. Throughout my career, I have been committed to creating engaging and supportive learning experiences that empower care professionals to make a positive difference in the lives of those they support. I believe that great training inspires compassion, professionalism, and continuous improvement. My goal is not only to educate but also to motivate and inspire others in the care sector to reach their full potential and deliver exceptional, person-centred care every day.
As Training Manager at Nexxus, I am responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the company's training function. I oversee the training team and manage all aspects of sourcing, developing, coordinating, and administering training programmes to ensure our employees have the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to deliver outstanding care.
Alongside managing the training function, I also deliver and assess training through both face-to-face sessions and our eLearning platform, supporting new and existing employees to achieve and maintain the highest professional standards. I work closely with the Recruitment and Operational teams to identify current and future workforce development needs, ensuring our training provision supports business objectives and regulatory requirements.
I am passionate about creating positive learning experiences that empower individuals to grow in their roles while embedding the Nexxus vision and values throughout every stage of their development journey.

We will also cover practical sessions during face to face training, so all new care staff do not feel overwhelmed when they first experience equipment in their new job role. When care staff have completed their face to face to training, they are enrolled onto the E-learning platform which is also produced by subject experts, where they must complete online courses withing their probation period, with the support of our trainers if there is a need.
