MacGregor Tithe is a large retirement living scheme that is open for anyone over 55 to apply to move into when apartments become available. However, elements of this retirement scheme include the delivery of care. Therefore, it is marked as an extra care scheme. Nexxus Care tuped over to its services recently in 2023. MacGregor Tithe was built in 1999 on the site of the former Tamworth General Hospital and doing this involved a lot of new development and refurbishment.
Macgregor Tithe is located in Tamworth and has been in operation for 24 years. The building is a 69 bedded scheme, and we currently provide care to 38 of those living in the scheme.
The building itself is owned by housing provider Platform HG and they have done a great job in ensuring the building provides a homely and friendly atmosphere. MacGregor Tithe enjoy their activities as coffee mornings, bingo and other social activities are held weekly.
Although, the service we provide within our extra care schemes is similar to the way we run our Domiciliary care service. Referrals are dealt with in a different way. When a new individual moves into an apartment at MacGregor Tithe the housing provider assesses that individual to understand whether or not they will need care to be provided. Once a need is identified depending on that individuals circumstances the housing provider comes to us to see if we have the capacity to take on that call. If Nexxus can accommodate the hours safely and effectively, we will commence care as soon as possible (N.B. Subject to pre-admission assessments). We can take on any package of care whether it is through brokerage or private.
The bus stop is just outside of the building and can take you to many places in and around Tamworth.

Ankerside shopping centre is only half a mile away from the scheme.
